
McDonald's announced that it is going to be expanding in the next year opening 1,000 new restaurants in 2010. Great companies use economic downturns as a chance to make good strategic investments, because with lower prices it is like everything is on sale. This further demonstrates that McDonald's is not really in the hamburger business. They are in the real estate business. Land is cheap because of the drop in real estate prices so it's time to expand!
